Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
1. Introduction
TradeSymmetry Guard (“the Extension,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a Chrome browser extension that provides real-time risk monitoring for prop trading accounts on supported trading terminals, including MT5, TradeLocker, and Match-Trader web platforms.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, what is stored, and what is not. We have written this policy in plain English so you can understand exactly what happens to your data.
The Extension is built around a simple principle: your trading data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Google Account Information (sign-in only)
When you sign in to the Extension using Google, we receive the following information from Google:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture URL
- Your Google user ID
This information is collected once, at sign-in, through Google's OAuth 2.0 service. We use it solely to create and identify your TradeSymmetry Guard account.
2.2 Trading Terminal Data (read locally, never transmitted)
While the Extension is running on a supported trading terminal page (MT5, TradeLocker, or Match-Trader), it reads the following information directly from the page (the DOM):
- Account balance and equity
- Floating profit/loss and closed profit/loss
- Open positions, including symbol, lot size, entry price, stop loss, and take profit
- The account ID displayed on the terminal
This data is never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared with anyone. It is held briefly in your browser's memory, used to calculate your risk metrics (such as daily drawdown, max drawdown, and profit target progress), and discarded after each 250-millisecond calculation cycle.
2.3 Settings and Preferences
You can configure the Extension with the following preferences:
- Selected prop firm
- Trading model
- Challenge phase
- Risk preferences (drawdown thresholds, starting balance, lot sizing)
These settings are saved locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. They are not transmitted to us.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data only for the purposes shown below:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google account information | Creating and authenticating your account |
| Trading terminal data | Calculating real-time risk metrics shown to you in the widget |
| Settings and preferences | Saving your configuration so it persists between sessions |
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, AI model training, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Extension's core functionality.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
To be explicit, the Extension does not collect, access, or transmit any of the following:
- Keystrokes or clipboard contents
- Screenshots or screen recordings
- Browsing history or information from non-trading websites
- Financial transactions, deposits, or withdrawals
- Trading history beyond what is currently visible on your active session screen
- Health, location, demographic, or identity-document data
- Passwords or login credentials for any service other than the Google sign-in token described above
5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 Stored on your device
- A JWT authentication token (in
chrome.storage) - Your settings and preferences (in
chrome.storage)
This data is accessible only to the Extension within your Chrome browser profile.
5.2 Stored on our backend server
Our backend server, located at prop.bsvseeds.com, stores only the following:
- Your Google user ID
- Your name, email address, and profile avatar URL
The server does not receive, store, or process any of your trading data. Communication between the Extension and the server is limited to:
- Sent to the server: Your Google OAuth token, during sign-in only.
- Received from the server: A JWT authentication token and publicly available prop firm rule data.
All communication with our server uses HTTPS encryption.
6. Permissions and Why We Use Them
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each of which is used for a specific feature:
storage— to save your settings and your JWT authentication token locally on your device.notifications— to alert you when you are approaching a drawdown limit or another configured risk threshold.activeTab— to detect which trading terminal tab is currently active so the widget monitors the correct account.offscreen— to support the Google OAuth sign-in flow in the background.tabs— to open the Google sign-in tab and read the authentication token from the redirect URL after you sign in.host_permissions(<all_urls>) — to inject the risk monitoring widget into supported trading terminal pages. Because trading terminal URLs vary by broker and white-label provider, the Extension needs broad URL access to detect supported pages. The Extension is only activated on pages it recognizes as supported trading terminals; it does not run on or read data from any other websites.
7. Third-Party Services
The Extension uses one third-party service:
- Google OAuth 2.0 — for sign-in only.
Google's handling of your data during sign-in is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not use any analytics platforms, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or other third-party SDKs in the Extension.
8. Data Retention
- JWT authentication token: expires automatically after 7 days; stored locally on your device only.
- Settings and preferences: kept on your device until you clear them or uninstall the Extension.
- Account information on our server: retained until you request deletion.
- Trading data: not retained anywhere; processed in memory and immediately discarded.
9. Your Rights and Choices
At any time, you can:
- Sign out of the Extension from the popup. This removes your JWT token from local storage.
- Disable the Extension through
chrome://extensions. - Uninstall the Extension, which removes all locally stored data.
- Request deletion of your server-side account by contacting us using the details in Section 12. We will delete your account information within 30 days of receiving your request.
If you are in a jurisdiction with applicable privacy laws (for example, the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you also have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.
10. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Extension or by email where appropriate.
